Welcome to Golborne Roll Of Honour
The Memorial On The Corner Of Barn Lane And Legh Street
I wonder how many times you have walked ridden, or just driven past this memorial without taking a closer look at the names of the men who fought for their country from our little village?
The memorial itself was only errcted in 1926, some 7 years after the conclusion of WW1 (1914 - 1919), and presented to the village by F. Naylor. If you care to look on the memorial there arethe names of nearly 90 men who gave their lives in foreign lands to defend King and Country.
The purpose of this website is to find out who the men behind the names actually were - on the memorial they are just listed as an initial and surname - and present that information in a format that is accessable by all who may wish to find out more about the men behind the names.
